Lancelot cavaliere imperfetto Aventures e struttura nelle Merveilles de Rigomer

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Les Merveilles de Rigomer sono un lungo romanzo arturiano (fine XIII secolo), che racconta le avventure del cavaliere Lancelot per la conquista del regno irlandese di Rigomer. Spinto tuttavia dalla curiosità, e non da nobili valori cavallereschi, egli cade negli incantesimi del castello, dai quali viene salvato da Gauvain, cavaliere perfetto, e può così riprendere la sua onorata vita di cavaliere. La struttura del romanzo è modellata su questa mancanza, prodotta dalla somma delle avventure di Lancelot che si susseguono una dietro l’altra, secondo un ininterrotto itinerario sino alla felice conclusione.

ABSTRACT: The Merveilles de Rigomer are a long Arthurian Romance (late XIIIth Century) which tells the adventures of Lancelot for the conquest of the irish kingdom of Rigomer. However, driven by curiosity and not by noble knightly values, he falls into the spells of the castle, from which he is saved by Gauvain, the perfect knight, and he can thus resume his honorable life as a knight. The structure of the romance is modeled on this lack, produced by the sum of Lancelot’s adventures that follow one after the other, following an unininterrupted itinerary until the happy conclusion.
